Soccer team’s regular season title hopes end

After two games between Lake Orion and Bloomfield Hills Lahser, finding a difference between the two teams seems like a difficult task, at least on the scoreboard.
The two teams tied for the second time in as many games, playing to a 2-2 draw at LOHS on May 9.
Rachel Bemman and Kaitlin Denton both scored early in the first half for the Dragons, but their 2-0 halftime lead wouldn’t hold as Lahser turned up the intensity in the second half.
Lahser scored two goals, just over a minute apart, to tie the score.
Much like the first game between the two teams, things were extremely physical.
Three yellow cards were handed out in a game that included two-dozen foul calls.
After the Lahser draw, any hopes LO had of winning the OAA I would almost certainly require wins in each of their final three league contests.
Things against Troy Athens on May 11 appeared to be going as planned, after a Bemman goal put the Dragons ahead, 1-0, at the half.
But things unravelled for the Dragons after the break, as four unanswered Athens goals put the game out of reach, and dropped LO to 2-3-3 in league action.
The Dragons are 11-3-3 overall, and ended the week ranked seventh in the state in Division I.
