Team SEPTA of Lake Orion (a special education PTA) is joining thousands of others this week in celebrating National PTA Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week.
President Tracy Gora said the group wants to focus national attention on ‘the outstanding contributions the special education staff make to us individually and as a community.?
She pointed out how experts have concluded that giving the staff the status and recognition they deserve as professionals is the best way to improve education in this country.
‘We must recognize that all of us know of exceptional teachers, para-educators and ancillary staff, and that there is a great deal of good work being done in our schools,? Gora noted.
On behalf of Team SEPTA and the students, Gora thanked the special education staff of Orion for their dedication, patience, compassion, understanding, enthusiasm, and encouragement.
‘But most of all we would like to thank them for their continued helping hands and reassuring smiles that they provide to our children with disabilities,? she said.
