Still time to meet the candidates before Aug. 5 primary

The Lake Orion Review and Orion Neighborhood Television teamed to host a Candidates Night at the ONTV studio on June 30.
The event was broadcast live on Cable Channel 20 and will reair on that channel every day until the Aug. 5 primary election.
The program will run Monday through Sunday with the supervisor candidates and clerk candidates portion starting at noon and the treasurer candidates and trustee candidates starting at 2 p.m.
On Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday the supervisor/clerk portion will air at 7 p.m., with the treasurer/trustee portion starting at 9 p.m.
DVDs of the programs will be available for checkout at the Orion Township Library beginning this week.
In addition, the Candidates Night will be available for free online at www.orionontv.org starting next week.
Meanwhile, the North Area Citizens Conference is sponsoring a Candidates Forum at Orion Township Hall on July 24 at 7 p.m.
All candidates have been invited, and Jim Milford will be the moderator for the evening. The public will be given an opportunity to ask questions of the candidates, as well.
‘We wish to remind the public that the primary election held on August 5 will determine the winners of most Orion Township government offices,? said NACC Secretary Mary Ann Ryan. ‘Please plan to attend this important forum. An informed public is the cornerstone of a sound democracy.?
The event will be aired live on Cable Channel 10.
