Swimmers continue to make big strides

Losing in a dual meet is nothing new for the Dragon’s boys swim team, which has much bigger goals in mind.
Therefore a loss in which four different team members set season best marks should be considered a successful meet.
That was the case as LO fell 103-83 to North Farmington on Jan. 26.
Ricky Forrest set a new season best mark in the 200-yard individual medley, the closest race of the night, which he won by 0.67 seconds.
Following suit was Garrett Ruhland, in both the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly, and Brandon Figurski, who broke the pool record he set a couple weeks ago in the 1-meter diving event.
Also highlighting the night for the Dragons was Dave Brown, who won both the 100- and 200-yard freestyle, winning the 200-yard event by nearly nine seconds.
Andrew Kuehl finished a close second to teammates Ruhland and Brown in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle events, respectively.
Forrest also blew out the field in the 500-yard freestyle relay, with a win by more than 19 seconds.
The team of Brown, Kuehl, Ruhland and Forrest was dominant in winning the 400-yard freestyle relay as well.
