Join the Lady Wolves this Thursday as they host Senior Night as they take on Lake Orion, 6 p.m.
The Clarkston Girls Varsity Swim and Dive team recently celebrated a well-deserved win over Rochester last Thursday and finishing in fourth place at the Oakland County Meet out of 32 teams, Oct. 6-7.
During the county meet seven swimmers qualified for the MHSAA Girls Swim & Dive Division 1 State Championships in ten events.
The girls qualified for three relay events with the 200-yard medley relay of Betsey Walkowiak, Alexis Moon, Caroline Hughes and Ashleigh Allen finishing in sixth place, 1:50.75.
Allen, Moon, Rachel Kociba and Haley VanBuskirk finished ninth in the 200-yard freestyle relay, 1:42.33.
Walkowiak, VanBuskirk, Hughes and Evie Dice finished sixth in the 400-yard freestyle relay at 3:39.20 for the state cut.
Qualifying in individual events for the state championship:
Hughes finished sixth in the 100-yard backstroke, 59.15 and eighth in the 100-yard butterfly, 58.69; Moon, sixth in the 100-yard breastroke, 1:08.30; VanBuskirk, third in the 200-yard freestyle, 1:54.42 and sixth in the 100-yard freestyle, 53.65; Allen finished sixth in in the 200-yard individual medley, 2:11.92, which is her personal best; and 12th in the 500-yard freestyle evnt, 5:15.41.
Walkowiak finished the 50-yard freestyle in 18th place, 25.58; and the 100-yard freestyle in 19th place, 55.65; Dice finished the 100-yard butterfly in 18th place, 1:01.46;
Maddie Kwasnik finished the 200-yard individual medley in 20th place, 2:16.14; Moon finished the 200-yard individual medley in 21st place, 2:16.31; Kociba finished the 50-yard freestyle in 23rd place, 25.99; Dice finished the 200-yard freestyle in 26th place, 2:02.82; and Kociba finished the 100-yard freestyle in 38th place, 58.53.
For diving, Abby Line had 281.20 points for 15th place; Sydney VanBuskirk, 118.20 points; and Abby Bartley, 130.50 points.
The Lady Wolves opened the week on Tuesday against Troy.
