Weekend Sports Update

SOCCER: The Dragon girls’ fell 6-0 to Rochester Adams on Saturday morning, but finished their week with a 2-1 record in the tough OAA I.
The team beat Stoney Creek on Tuesday and earned a come-from-behind 3-1 victory over Lahser on Thursday, getting the tying and go-ahead goals from Niki Read.
The Dragons are now 4-3-1 overall and 2-3-1 in league action. They’ll get a rematch with Adams on Tuesday.

BASEBALL: The Dragons improved to 10-0 on the season and won their 22nd consecutive game Thursday, beating Groves 8-0 in a non-league game.
Josh Deeg led the way, striking out 10 in a complete game effort.

TRACK: Both the girls? and boys? squad topped Southfield on the track on Wednesday, with the girls? 76-52 victory being their first in two seasons.
In the process of that victory, Alexandria Johnson set a new school record in the 200-dash (26.3). Look for more on that achievement in next week’s Review.

SOFTBALL: The Dragons split a doubleheader with Farmington at home on Wednesday, winning the first game 2-1 and falling in the nightcap 3-1.
Lauren Farrington had an RBI and scored a run for Lake Orion, which is now 6-2 overall and 2-2 in the OAA I.
Danielle Dunn struck out nine in a complete-game effort in game one.

LACROSSE: The boys? squad fell to 2-4 on the season, dropping home games to Adams (16-7) on Tuesday and Waterford (9-5) on Thursday.
Andy Plets scored twice against Adams and three times against Waterford. Johnny Costigan had two goals in both contests.
Spencer Murphy made 19 saves against Adams and 14 more against Waterford.
