Wolfpack Update for February 5, 2025

Clarkston Bowling
The Clarkston Bowling teams opened last week hosting Lake Orion, Jan. 28.
The girls varsity team secured a 16-14 victory with Katie Stephens having a 192-201.
The boys varsity team started with wins in the two Baker games. Nate Petiprin had a 230. The boys finished with a loss, 17-13.
The boys JV team had a 17.5-12.5 victory over Lake Orion. Greyson Matteson had 202 and 176 games and Ethan McLachlin, 199 and 169.
The Wolves competed against Royal Oak at Astro Lanes, Jan. 29. The boys varsity and JV teams were victorious with a 201-217 set from Gavin Pittman, 214-216 from Jackson Artiss and a nice 277 game by Petiprin. The JV team won 27-3 led by a nice 181-171 set from Zach Marshall.
The girls varsity team lost to Royal Oak. Abby Stephens had a 183-171 set and K. Stephens had a 177-207 set. Kenny Potter had a 189 game for the JV team.

Clarkston Competitive Cheer
The Clarkston Competitive Cheer teams competed in the last OAA Red League meet on Saturday.
The varsity finished in fifth place with a total of 742.18 points with 225.4 points in the first round; 214.18, second round; and 302.6, third round.
The JV team finished in fourth place with a total of 660.1 total points with 209.3 in the first round; 178.6, second round; and 280.2, third round.
They compete this Friday in the Troy Colt Classic at Troy High School, 6:30 p.m.
The varsity teams heads to Grand Blanc on Friday, Feb. 14 for the MHSAA Division 1 Competitive Cheer District 6, 6 p.m.

Clarkston Ice Hockey
The Clarkston Varsity Hockey team went 1-1 last week, The Wolves defeated Alpena on Saturday, 5-3.
They lost to Lake Forest Academy on Friday, 7-3. Kyle Lynch led the team with two goals and one assist. Frank Stanek had one goal and one assist. Brady Damian made 29 saves in the net.
The Wolves play Lake Orion this Thursday and host Howell on Saturday. Both games are Detroit Skating Club in Bloomfield Hills at 6 p.m.

Clarkston Boys Skiing
The Clarkston Boys Varsity Ski team finished in second place in the Giant Slalom in the Pine Knob High School League, Jan. 28.
Anthony Ventimiglia finished in sixth place with the combined time of 35.81; Evan Savoie, tenth, 36.18; Wyatt Janczarek, 13th, 36.29; Ryan Bushroe, tied for 16th, 36.77; Nathan Saker, 20th, 37.37; and Jeremy Nord, tied for 26th, 38.32.
The Wolves finished in fourth place in the Slalom, Jan. 29. Bushroe led with a third place finish, 45.98; Brown, 11th, 48.73; Evan Duty, 18th, 53.86; Janczarek, 26th, 57.89; Saker, tied for 44th, 62.82; and Nord, 58th, 75.46.
The boys JV team finished in first place in the Slalom, Jan. 30. Gavin Rose finished in first place with a combined time of 51.45; Cole Hedstrom, second, 52.50; William Place, fourth, 56.16; Jaime Rodriquez, eighth, 63.42; Liam Hamilton, 13th, 66.98; and Mason Pagel, 15th, 68.56.

Clarkston Girls Skiing
The Clarkston Girls Varsity Ski team finished in first place in their Giant Slalom and Slalom races last week in the Pine Knob High School League with Cameron Thomas leading the Wolves in both races.
Thomas finished in first place in the Giant Slalom with a combined time of 35.35, Jan. 28. Julia Verbeke finished in fourth place, 37.87; Lucy Roeser, 11th, 37.87; Jenna Brown, 13th, 37.98; Lucy Savoie, 18th, 38.77; Chloe Cook, 25th, 39.52; and Grace Campau, 59th, 48.11.
Thomas finished in second place in the Slalom with a combined time of 48.23, Jan. 29. Brown finished in fourth place, 51.07; Roeser, tied for eighth, 52.55; Verbeke, 15th, 54.50; Savoie, 20th, 56.01; Cook, 23rd, 57.77; and Matilde Sartorio, 50th, 78.80.

Clarkston Boys Swim & Dive
The Clarkston Boys Swim and Dive defeated the Ravens last Thursday at Royal Oak High School, 101-84.
Scoring points in the individual events were: in the 50-yard freestyle event, Edward Zarzycki in fourth place in the time of 25.96; Ryan Kornas, fifth, 26.39; 100-yard butterfly, Blake Davidson, second, 58.91; Zarzycki, third, 1:00.53; Diego Cordoba-Ortega, fourth, 1:07.35; 100-yard freestyle, David Ryan, first, 58.00; Connor Quinlan, second, 59.50; Griffin Eastman, fourth, 1:00.84; 100-yard backstroke, Braeden Covintree, first, 58.49; Quinlan, second, 1:05.20; Ryan Kornas, fifth, 1:13; 100-yard breaststroke, Ben Guzal, first, 1:09.35; Weston Miller, fifth, 1:16.36; 200-yard freestyle, Covintree, first, 1:53.42; Jack Smith, third, 2:03.51; 200-yard IM, Guzal, first, 2:12.35; Eastman, second, 2:27.98; Davidson, third, 2:31.44; 500-yard freestyle, Smith, second, 5:35.17 and Max Sloan, fifth, 6:07.25.
The Wolves finished in first and second place in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of Covintree, Guzal, Davidson and Smith took first place in the time of 1:52.04; and the team of Quinlan, Miller, Zarzycki and Eastman, second, 1:58.26.
The team of Guzal, Davidson, Ryan and Covintree finished in first place in the 200-yard freestyle relay in the time of 1:39.35; and the team of Eastman, Cordoba-Ortega, Miller and Kornas finished in third, 1:50.71.
The team of Ryan, Zarzycki, Quinlan and Smith finished in second place in the 400-yard freestyle relay, 3:55.20.
Jonathan George finished in first place in the 1-meter diving with 175.45 points in six dives.
The Wolves competed in the MISCA meet on Friday and Saturday. Covintree finished in 26th place in the 100-yard backstroke in the time of 57.37; and 30th in the 100-yard freestyle, 49.84.
Guzal finished in 23rd place in the 200-yard IM, 2:07.72; and 28th place in the 100-yard backstroke, 57.42.
The 200-yard medley relay team finished in 27th place in the time of 1:44.91; and the 200-yard freestyle relay team, 32nd place, 1:35.38.
The Wolves host Midland this Thursday, 6 p.m. They head to Lake Orion on Friday and Saturday for the Oakland County Championship.

Clarkston Wrestling
The Wolves finished the OAA Red League undefeated in dual meets 6-0. They wrapped the meets with wins over Oxford and Bloomfield Hills, Jan. 29.
Clarkston opened the night with a 69-3 win over the Wildcats.
Wolves won five matches with falls with Ethan Zak starting the night with a fall over Joey Safran in the 190-pound weight class. Other wins by falls were Chase Olson (215) over Braylon Hake; Gavin Culloty (120) over John Richardson; Nate Carter (144) over Noah Turek; and Joel Carter (165) over Dom Sorenson.
Wins by technical falls were made by Camden Neumann (285) over Caleb White, 20-3; Joseph Hahn (106) over Daniel Cisneros, 15-0; Brendan Goldstein (132) over AJ Blaylock, 24-7; and Preston Lefevre (138) over Troy Meyers, 20-2.
Austin Wisterman (126) had a major decision win over Keegan Miner; and Connor Newton (157) won by decision over Presley Goodhue.
Noah Vogt (113) and Ayden Mutter (150) won by a void.
Clarkston defeated finished the meet with a 40-33 win over Bloomfield Hills.
The Wolves won five matches with falls as Ethan Zak (215) had a fall over Preston Kasshamoun; Neumann over William Xintaris; Hahn over Anthony Orlewicz; Vogt over John Yousif; and Colluty (126) over Devin Warren.
Clarkston had victories in and matches with technical falls as Lefevre had a win over Arber Dembogaj-Beyer, 18-1; and Olson (190) over Ben Modiano, 15-0.
The Wolves finished in second place in the OAA Red League tournament on Friday with 175 points.
Jay Wilson (106), Noah Vogt (113) and Chase Olson (190) finished the night in first place in their weight classes. Tyler Le (120), Brenden Goldstein (132), Wyatt Auten (150) and Etienne Mohr (157) took second place. Ethan Zak (190) finished in third place. Gavin Peruski (138), Aidan Newton (144), AJ Plouhar (175) and Austin Wisterman (120) finished in fifth place. Connor Newton (165) and Joel Carter (157) took sixth place.
Rochester Adams finished in first place with 183 points; Lake Orion, third, 163.5; Oxford, fourth, 156.5; Rochester, fifth, 109; Bloomfield Hills, sixth, 97.5; and Stoney Creek, seventh, 88.
The Wolves host the MHSAA Division 1 Team Wrestling District 107 this Thursday, 5 p.m. They head to the MHSAA Division 1 Individual Wrestling District 2 at Birmingham Groves on Saturday, 9 a.m.

Clarkston Powerlifting
The Clarkston High School Powerlifting team had eight compete and place at the Troy Athens Regional Meet, Jan. 18.
Five Wolves placed in the men’s varsity competition. Jesse Hayduck finished in third place in the 155-pound weight class with a total of 1,000 pounds lifted with 365 pounds in squat; 255 in bench and 380 in deadlift.
Lucas Seedorf finished in third place and Nathan Simecek finished in fourth place in the 165-pound weight class. Seedorf lifted a total of 1,040 pounds with 370 in squat; 210 in bench; and 460 in deadlift. Simecek lifted a total of 1,035 pounds with 345 in squat; 250 in bench; and 440 in deadlift.
Brody Denver and Mason Miller competed in the 181-pound weight class for a top ten finish. Denver lifted a total of 970 pounds for a seventh place finish with 345 in squat; 240 in bench; and 385 in deadlift. Miller lifted a total of 965 pounds for eighth place finish with 325 in squat; 215 in bench; and 425 in deadlift.
Tyler Sowards (194) and Jackson Hess (275) finished in first place in their weight classes in the men’s JV competition. Sowards lifted a total of 855 pounds with 330 in squat; 175 in bench; and 350 in deadlift. Hess lifted a total of 1,035 pounds with 405 in squat; 215 in bench; and 415 in deadlift.
Ethan Deering (181) finished in fourth place with a total of 880 pounds with 295 in squat; 205 in bench; and 380 in deadlift.
