Wolfpack Update for January 15, 2025

Clarkston Bowling
The Clarkston Boys Varsity Bowling team started 2025 with a 30-0 win over Ferndale, Jan. 7. Jackson Artiss had a 223-231 set and Gavin Pittman bowled a 258 game.
All four bowling teams opened this week against Oxford on Monday before competing in the Oakland County tournament during the weekend.

Clarkston Ice Hockey
The Clarkston Varsity Hockey team went 1-1 in the North South Showcase in Traverse City last week.
The Wolves opened with a 8-2 win over Sault St. Marie on Friday. Kyle Lynch scored three goal and had one assist. Frank Stanek had two goals and two assists. Drew Swanson scored one goal and had one assist. Mike Truby and Gavin Anderson each scored one goal. Trey Damian and Drew Seiting each had two assists. Calum Hartner had 13 saves in the net.
The Wolves lost to Escanaba on Saturday, 4-1.
Clarkston (7-7-1, 4-0 OAA Red) opened this week against Brother Rice on Tuesday. They are back home at Detroit Skating Club when they host M-1 United on Thursday, Jan. 23, 6 p.m.

Clarkston Boys Skiing
The Clarkston Boys Varsity Ski team finished in fourth place in the Giant Slalom race.
Anthony Ventimiglia led the team, finishing in sixth place in the combined time of 36.40. Ryan Bushroe finished in tenth place in the time of 37.41; Evan Duty, 22nd, 38.84; Logan Brown, 24th, 39.10; Ryan McKay, 26th, 39.34; Aiden Pagel, 27th, 39.43; and Jeremy Nord, 49th, 43.74.
The boys won all three of their dual meets with a 15-25 win over Cranbrook, 10-35 win over Berkley/Athens, and 10-36 win over Waterford United.
The boys finished in second place in the Slalom race.
Ventimiglia led the team, finishing in eighth place with the combined time of 44.80. Nathan Saker finished in ninth place, 45.13; Nord, 11th, 45.34; Brown, 13th, 46.66; and Evan Savoie, 15th, 47.56.
The boys won all three of their dual meets in the Slalom with a 10-30 win over Cranbrook, 10-33 win over Berkley/Athens, and 10-34 win over Waterford United.
During the JV Giant Slalom and First Time Racers race on Jan. 7. Ventimiglia finished in second place in the combined time of 33.98; Brown, fourth, 35.63; Zachary Marko, 12th, 38.66; Braeden Weich, 13th, 38.81; Elliot Weich, 14th, 39.23; Spencer Brandon, 15th, 39.51; and Cole Hedstrom, 39th, 48.26.

Clarkston Girls Skiing
The Clarkston Girls Varsity Ski team finished in first place in the Giant Slalom race.
Cameron Thomas led the team finishing in fourth place with a combined time of 37.49. Julia Verbeke finished in fifth place in the combined time of 37.78; Jenna Brown, 11th, 38.97; Lucy Roeser, 12th, 39.30; Chloe Cook, 20th, 41.09; Lucy Savoie, 21st, 41.15; and Matilde Sartorio, 53rd, 48.21.
The girls won all of their dual meets with a 10-34 win over Cranbrook and a 14-28 win over Berkley/Athens.
The girls finished in second place in the Slalom race. Thomas led the Wolves finishing in second place in the combined time of 44.87; Brown, eighth, 48.59; Savoie, 16th, 54.24; Cook, 19th, 56.09; Roeser, 26th, 60.62; and Grace Campau, 51st, 79.02.
They had a 10-33 win over Cranbrook and 13-31 over Berkley/Athens.
During the first time race on Jan. 7, Sartorio finished in 21st place with the combined time of 44.80.

Clarkston Boys Swim & Dive
The Clarkston Boys Swim and Dive team lost to Stoney Creek last Thursday, 128.5-54.5.
Scoring points for the Wolves in the individual events were: in the 50-yard freestyle, David Ryan in third place in the time of 27.04; Connor Quinlan, fifth, 28.25; 100-yard butterfly, Braeden Covintree, second, 55.39; Blake Davidson, third, 1:03.83; 100-yard freestyle, Ryan, fifth, 58.69; 100-yard backstroke, Covintree, first, 58.29; Ben Guzal, second, 1:00.15; 100-yard breaststroke, Davidson, fourth, 1:20.31; Jack Ceo, fifth, 1:30.37; 200-yard freestyle, Jack Smith, third, 2:07.06; Ryan Kornas, fifth, 2:21.75; 200-yard IM, Guzal, second, 2:14.13; Weston Miller, third, 2:25.01; Diego Cordoba, fifth, 2:42.67; 500-yard freestyle, Smith, third, 5:52.27; Miller, fourth, 6:00.46; and Kornas, fifth, 6:25.79.
For the relays, the team of Guzal, Miller, Davidson and Covintree finished in third place in the 200-yard medley relay in the time of 1:51.09. The team of Ryan, Quinlan, Davidson and Smith finished in third place in the 200-yard freestyle relay, 1:47.57. The team of Covintree, Smith, Miller and Guzal finished in third place, in the 400-yard freestyle relay, 3:48.79.
Jonathan George finished in first place in 1-meter diving with 200.75 in six dives.
The Wolves competed in the Huron Valley Invite last Friday and Saturday, finishing in third place out of five teams with 91 points.
The 200-yard medley relay team with Guzal, Miller, Davidson and Covintree made the cut for the MISCA during the invite.
Covintree finished in first place in the 100-yard freestyle event in the time of 50.80 and Guzal finished in first place in the 100-yard backstroke, 58.72.
The Wolves opened the week against Rochester. They host Oxford on Thursday, 6 p.m.
