Clarkston Bowling

The Clarkston Boys Varsity Bowling team lost in a heartbreaker to Troy despite a huge 200-254 set from Slate Campbell, 235-214 from Gavin Pittman, 205-238 from Nate Petiprin and 221 by Lucas Herring, Jan. 20.
They lost to Lake Orion on Thursday. Campbell had a 221-202 and Jackson Artiss had a 227.
The Clarkston Girls Varsity Bowling team defeated Troy, 28-2, Jan. 20.
They lost to Lake Orion on Thursday, 25-5. Katie Stephens had a 227 game to maintain her league leading high average.
The Wolves opened the week against Lake Orion on Tuesday. They head to Royal Oak on Wednesday and host Oxford on Friday at Century Bowl, 3:30 p.m.

Clarkston Competitive Cheer
The Clarkston Varsity Competitive Cheer team finished in fifth place at the Lake Orion Invite on Saturday.
They scored a total of 766.6 points with 229 points in the first round; 224.5, second round; and 313.1, third round.
The JV team finished in third place with a total of 651.74 points with 198 points in the first round; 170.74, second round; and 283; third round.
The Wolves head to Avondale High School on Saturday for the OAA Red League Finals, 1 p.m.

Clarkston Ice Hockey
The Clarkston Varsity Hockey team went 3-0 last week.
They opened with a 3-1 win over M-1 Unified at home on Thursday, taking the win with two goals in the third period. Trey Damian had one goal and one assist. Kyle Lynch and Gavin Anderson each scored one goal. Frank Stanek had two assists. Vinny Giannini and Cal Kennedy each had one assist.
Calum Hartner had 11 saves while the Wolves made 47 shots on the net.
The Wolves followed the next night with a 3-2 win over Brighton, jumping to the lead with two goals in the first period. Anderson, Ryan Wilford and Drew Seiting had one goal each. Damian, Lynch, Johnny Walker, Luke Walker, Eric Wade and George Walker each had one assist.
Brady Damian had 21 saves in the net for Clarkston while the Wolves made 28 shots on Brighton’s net.
Clarkston played M-1 Unified on Saturday and defeated them for the second time, 6-1.
T. Damian scored two goals and had three assists. G. Walker had one goal and one assist. J. Walker, Stanek and Lynch each scored one goal. Anderson led assists with four. Seiting, Wilford and Tanner Gray each had one assist.
B. Damian had 16 saves in the net.
The Wolves (10-8-1, 6-0 OAA Red) compete in the MIHL Prep Hockey Showcase this Friday and Saturday in Trenton. They play Lake Forest Academy on Friday and Alpena on Saturday.
The Wolves play Lake Orion on Thursday, Feb. 6 at Detroit Skating Club, 6 p.m.

Clarkston Boys Skiing
The Clarkston Boys Varsity Ski team had four racers finish in the top five in the Slalom race in the Pine Knob High School League last Thursday.
Ryan Bushroe led the team, finishing in second place in the combined time of 40.82; Logan Brown, eighth, 42.75; Anthony Ventimiglia, ninth, 42.76; and Nathan Saker, tenth, 43.19. Wyatt Janczarek finished in 16th place, 44.55; Jeremy Nord, 17th, 44.56; and Evan Savoie, 25th, 49.84.
The boys defeated Notre Dame Prep, 16-22; and lost to Lake Orion, 18-20.
Ventimiglia led the team in the Giant Slalom, finishing in third place, 35.13. Nord finished in 12th place, 37.05; Janczarek, 15th, 37.35; Saker, 17th, 37.86; Ryan McKay, 21st, 39.04; and Aidan Pagel, 23rd, 39.40.
The boys lost to Lake Orion, 18-20; and Notre Dame Prep, 16-20.
Varsity races on Tuesday and Wednesday and JV on Thursday. The Don Thomas Cup is Friday at Mt. Brighton.

Clarkston Girls Skiing
Cameron Thomas finished in first place in the Slalom and Giant Slalom races last Thursday for the Clarkston Girls Varsity Ski team in the Pine Knob High School League.
“Incredibly challenging accomplishment based on our league competition,” shared Brian Popelier, head coach.
Thomas finished in first place in the Slalom race with a combined time of 43.18. Three other Wolves finished in the top ten with Julia Verbeke finishing in third place, 44.67; Jenna Brown, fourth, 45.23; and Lucy Roeser, seventh, 46.86. Chloe Cook finished in 18th place in the time of 55.12; Lucy Savoie, 22nd, 56.53; and Grace Campau, 43rd, 69.82.
The girls defeated Lake Orion, 10-34; and Notre Dame Prep, 13-27.
Four racers also finished in the top ten in the Giant Slalom with Thomas in first place, 36.44; Verbeke, second, 37.15; Roeser, fourth, 37.35; and Brown, fifth, 37.68. Savoie finished in 14th place, 40.60 Cook, 26th, 43.83; and Matilde Sartorio, 47th, 49.96.
The girls defeated Lake Orion in the Giant Slalom, 10-32; and Notre Dame Prep, 10-33.
Varsity races on Tuesday and Wednesday and JV on Thursday. The Don Thomas Cup is Friday at Mt. Brighton.

Clarkston Boys Swim & Dive
The Clarkston Boys Swim and Dive team lost to Groves last Thursday, 116-60.
Scoring points for the Wolves in individual events were: in the 50-yard freestyle, Blake Davidson in fourth place in the time of 25.64; David Ryan, fifth, 25.97; 100-yard butterfly, Davidson, second, 58.93; Edward Zarzycki, fourth, 1:02.32; 100-yard freestyle, Jack Smith, fourth, 55.12; Griffin Eastman, fifth, 1:00.54; 100-yard backstroke, Ben Guzal, second, 59.08; Ryan, fourth, 1:08.78; 100-yard breaststroke, Weston Miller, second, 1:11.78; Eastman, fifth, 1:22.11; 200-yard freestyle, Braeden Covintree, second, 1:54.53; Smith, fourth, 2:03; 200-yard IM, Guzal, first, 2:11.57; Miller, fourth, 2:25.02; Zarzycki, fifth, 2:28.31; 500-yard freestyle, Covintree, second, 5:14.86; and Ryan Kornas, fourth, 6:12.78.
For relays, the team of Guzal, Miller, Davidson and Covintree finished in second place in the 200-yard medley relay in the time of 1:51.32. The team of Covintree, Smith, Davidson and Guzal finished in second place in the 400-yard freestyle relay, 3:35.19. The team of Smith, Zarzycki, Eastman and Ryan finished in third place in the 200-yard freestyle, 1:44.76.
Jonathan George finished in first place in the 1-meter diving with 204.3 points in six dives.
The Wolves head to Royal Oak on Thursday. They head to Holland to compete in the Michigan Michigan Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association on Friday and Saturday.

Clarkston Wrestling
The Clarkston Varsity Wrestling team went 3-2 in the Saline Duals on Saturday. They had wins over Saline, Bellevue and Wyandotte. They lost to Brighton, ranked No. 2; and Davison, ranked No. 3.
The Clarkston B Wrestling team went 4-1 in the Romulus Duals on Saturday.
The Wolves head to Bloomfield Hills this Wednesday, as last week’s competition was postponed due to weather, 5 p.m.
Clarkston head to Lake Orion High School on Friday for the OAA Red Finals, 4:30 p.m.
