Clarkston Varsity Baseball took down another OAA Red foe for the third consecutive week.
The Wolves lost their first game to West Bloomfield and bounced back to win the next two to take the series.
“We were really good,” said Addison Turk, head coach. “West Bloomfield is a very talented team. After Monday facing their best pitcher, we responded really well and played two really good games on Thursday.”
He added differences between the two days were the Wolves were better at the bat, they played clean defensively and their pitching continues to be key.
“Our pitching was good all series but Carson White and Luke Spicer were really good in the two games on Thursday,” Turk said.
The Wolves won the series, winning the third game against West Bloomfield last Thursday, 7-4. Luke Spicer pitched for five innings, had nine strikeouts and only gave up one run. Preston Stout finished with the save.
Luke Evans went 2-for-4 at the bat with a double three RBIs.
“He had a great night,” Turk said.
Carson White went 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Logan Brimacombe went 1-for-3 and had one RBI.
They tied the series against the Lakers with a 3-2 win in the second game. White pitched for 6.1 innings. He struck out six and allowed two runs. Spicer finished with the save on the mound. He also went 2-for-4 at the bat with a double, one RBI and two runs scored. Camden Williamson went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Ryan Witt went 2-for-3 with a double and Brimacombe also went 2-for-3.
Clarkston lost the first game to West Bloomfield, 6-1, April 24.
The Wolves’ double header against Brighton last Friday was canceled due to weather related conditions.
UPDATE AS OF MAY 3: Due to weather, Clarkston start their 3-game series against Rochester on Thursday and finish the series at home on Friday with a double header. All games start at 4:30 p.m.
“Their record is pretty good,” said Turk. “It will be another tough series.”
