Alexandra Brigham finished as champion during the Freshman Oakland County Championship in Milford, May 25, as the Clarkston Girls Track and Field team finished in fifth place during the meet.
Brigham finished in the time of 12:15.25 for first place in the 3,200-meter run. She also finished in sixth place in the 1,600-meter run, 5:28.65.
Emily Valencia finished in the top ten in three events with a second place finished in the 400-meter dash, 1:03.52; fourth place in the long jump, 14-08.25; and eighth in 800-meter dash, 2:33.65.
Genna Golab finished in the top ten in two events. She finished in fifth place in the long jump, 14-02.5; and tenth in 100-meter hurdles, 19.37.
The 400-meter relay team with Jordyn McNaught, Sammie Carpentier, Gracie Telfer and Kaelyn Rhyndress finished in sixth place, 57.59.
The girls scored 33.5 points during the mee out of 26 teams.
Walled Lake Northern finished in first place with 94 points. Novi finished in second place with 39 points; Farmington Hills Mercy, third, 36; and Lake Orion, fourth, 33.5.
The boys finished in ninth place with 28 points out of 26 teams.
For track events, in the 200-meter dash, Keehan LaVell finished in sixth place in the time of 24.44; 400-meter dash, Brock Trevino, fifth, 54.08; 1,600-meter run, Bryce Nowik, sixth, 4:47.53; and 3,200-meter run, Nowik, fourth, 11:00.97.
For field events, in discus, Nick Waszczenko, fourth, 97-06; and high jump, LaVell, second, 5-08; Aidan Moreira, 5-00.
Walled Lake Northern finished in first place with 89 points. Walled Lake Central finished in second place, 54; West Bloomfield, third, 53; Lake Orion, fourth, 37.33; and Troy Athens, fifth, 31.

It was a late start in the 62nd Oakland County Championships due to Friday’s rain at Clarkston High School but it didn’t slow the Wolves from taking top ten places in events.
The boys track and field team finished in 11th place out of 33 teams with 29 points.
Senior Ben Haas finished as county champion in the shot put, throwing a distance of 53-09.5. He finished fourth place in the discus with 140-06.
Senior Brendan Farmer finished in third place in pole vault with 11-00.
For track events, in the 1,600-meter run, junior Andrew Sesti finished in fifth place in the time of 4:29.88; junior Joey Taverna, eighth, 4:35.14; 800-meter dash, senior Bo Anderson, eighth, 2:05.90; and 400-meter dash, sophomore Mark Palmeter, ninth, 53.31.
The 800-meter relay team of Palmeter, Keehan LaVell, Drew Radlick and Landon Butcher finished in seventh place, 1:36.80.
The top five teams were Novi in first place with 72 points; Lake Orion, second, 62; Stoney Creek, third, 55; Bloomfield Hills, fourth, 40; and West Bloomfield, fifth, 36.
The girls track and field team finished in ninth place out of 33 teams with 23.5 points.
For track events, in the 800-meter dash, senior Shannon Billette finished in fifth place, 2:26.03; sophomore Cate Cotter, tenth, 2:28.56; sophomore Rebekah Wilson, 11th, 2:28.92; 1,600-meter run, freshman Alexandra Brigham, seventh, 5:26.25; and 3,200-meter run, Brigham, fifth, 11:39.67; senior Mattie Drennan, ninth, 12:08.12.
The 3,200-meter team of Billette, Drennan, Cotter and Wilson finished in fifth place, 10:03.63.
Freshman Genna Golab finished in third place in the pole vault with 10-06; and senior Hannah Golab finished in fifth place, 9-06.
The top five teams were Lake Orion in first place with 75 points; Rochester Adams, second, 69; Bloomfield Hills, third, 54; Oxford, fourth, 48; and Milford, fifth, 44.
