Clarkston Art in the Alley (AIA) is a public installation featuring work by students attending Clarkston Community Schools.
The art selected for Art in the Alley showcases a great breadth of medium, skill, creativity, and innovation.
Student artists range from pre-K to 12th grade across all Clarkston schools.
Art in the Alley was originally conceptualized to bring the community together outdoors to celebrate CCS artists during the 2020-21 school year.
After wonderful community feedback, the Clarkston Foundation agreed to fully sponsor AIA and continue the show for the 2021-22 school year.
Clarkston Arts organized an open house celebration for the 2022 Artists of AIA and the Erin Modrzynski Memorial Scholarship recipients on June 15 in front of the display.
Megan Blades received a $1,000 for visual arts, Laura Lemerond received a $500 scholarship for instrumental, Julia Enriquez received a $500 scholarship for visual arts, and Kendall Wayne received a $500 scholarship for visual arts.
Art in the Alley can be enjoyed throughout the year located at the corner of Washington and Main streets in downtown Clarkston.
