Springfield car accident
A 22-year-old Clarkston man was critically injured July 30 when the car he was driving left the road and struck a tree in Springfield Township.
The accident happened on Foster Road near Dixie Highway at approximately 4:14 p.m.
The driver was eastbound on Foster Road in a 2018 Chevrolet Cruze when the crashed occurred.
The driver was not wearing a seatbelt. Alcohol use is a factor in the crash.
Investigators obtained a search warrant to get a blood sample from the driver.
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating the incident.
Construction destruction
At approximately 10 p.m. on July 10, surveillance cameras captured footage of five unknown white men on the property of a construction project located in the 7000 block of Sashabaw Road.
They were observed playing on the fork lifts and entering the building.
Once inside the building, the subjects broke an “exit” display sign from the ceiling, spray painted counter tops, spray painted walls and sprayed the fire extinguishers.
Found gun
On July 11 at approximately 7:22 a.m., a citizen found an unloaded semi-automatic handgun on the side of the roadway near the intersection of Clarkston Road and Delhi Street.
Deputies secured the weapon and were able to ascertain that the handgun was registered to a Clarkston resident.
Deputies were unsuccessful in making contact with the owner and it was placed into the property room.
