“We have really been focusing on competing for every point and not taking any points off in practice,” Smith said. “So I was really happy with our focus and our competitiveness through the first week of power series.”
The Wolves went 3-0 in their home quad against Lake Fenton, Flushing and Birch Run on Tuesday, Aug. 30.
“It was a really good night for us,” Smith said. “We were able to move some people into different positions just to try some different lineups out. We have some kids who are injured so we are requiring a lot from everybody just being ready to play whatever position we need them to play. I thought we had a lot of success doing so.”
She added, “I feel like we have a really balanced attack this year. It’s not just one person pulling the weight. It’s really a team effort. I am proud of that as well.
The Clarkston Freshman, JV and varsity teams play in the Program Cup on Saturday.
“The school’s overall final record determines the winner of the entire tournament. Your final results from freshman, JV and varsity determine the winner. It’s a neat set up. It’s a competitive tournament.”
