Eight Oxford High School students recently participated in the Ford/AAA Student Auto Skills National Quality Care Challenge.
Every year Oxford sends a team of eight students to the event.
This year, 41 Michigan teams from 34 schools competed in the March 4 “heat” of competition, which included a written test.
The top two students from the top 10 finishing teams will go on to the next event – the hands-on state finals.
The teams will learn in April whether or not they will move forward to state competition, being held this year at the Macomb Community College Exhibition Center in Warren.
Pictured in front of the auto department’s awards display is this year’s team: (left-right) instructor Dan Balsley, Dan Dunham, Devon Hickmott, Scott Salgot, Rachel Hermann, Nate LaMothe and Dave Furlong. Not pictured are team members Brian Younger and Jerry Summers.
Good luck to all the OHS technicians!
