On Friday, May 26, deputies were called to the Algonac Harbour Club for a boating accident that had occurred at the marina, located in Algonac, which is about 56 miles southeast of Clarkston.
According to the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department, deputies discovered a 23-foot Cobia center console had crashed into a dock while attempting to park.
Debra Fox, a 66-year-old Clarkston woman, was on the boat and was severely injured in the crash.
CPR was started, and she was quickly transported to McLaren Macomb Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
The 66-year-old male driver, also from Clarkston, was the only other occupant on the boat.
According to law enforcement officials, drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the crash.
