Clarkston Boys Golf
Clarkston Boys Varsity Golf competed in the All-OAA Invitational at Fieldstone Golf Club for a third place finish with 328. Seniors Sam Studak and Austin Summers led and finished in the top ten, May 8.
Studak finished in seventh place with an 80 for the day and Summers finished in tenth place with an 81. Freshman Chris Quayle had a 82; senior Owen Cameron, 85; juniors Vinny Giannini and Calum Hartner tied with 87.
The Wolves traveled to Flint Golf Club and finished in the top five with fourth place, 315. Quayle finished in fifth place with a 75. Hartner had a 78; Giannini, 79; junior Braden Waechter, 83; and Luke Brody, 91.
JVA finished in first place in the Royal Oak Invitational last Friday with a 328.
Sophomore Anthony Dubeck led the team, finishing in first place with a 74. Freshman Matthew Drake and sophomore Ryan Wilford tied for ninth place with a 84. Juniors Frank Stanek and Finn Mooney tied for 13th with 86.
Clarkston Girls Lacrosse
The Clarkston Girls Varsity Lacrosse split last week with a 15-5 win over North Farmington on May 8; and a loss in overtime to Farmington on May 6, 13-12.
The Wolves opened the week against Rochester Adams on Tuesday. They host Rochester on May 15 at the Clarkston High School Soccer/Lacrosse Stadium. JV plays at 5:30 p.m., varsity follows.
Clarkston (6-7) plays Waterford Kettering in the first round of regional playoffs on Thursday at Kettering, 6 p.m.
Clarkston Baseball
The Clarkston Varsity Baseball team swept the Oxford Strong Classic winning all three games in the series.
They opened the series with a 7-4 win in game one on May 6. TJ Hyde was the winning pitcher, throwing four innings and only giving up two hits. Chris York went 2-for-3 hitting with two RBIs. Owen McCuan had a double off his one hit and two RBIs. Camden Williamson went 1-for-3 and had two RBIs.
The Wolves won the second game, May 7, 9-5. Dylan Johnston was the winning pitcher in five innings with zero earned runs and four strikeouts. Richard Westerman had three RBIs off his one hit and had one run. Lucas Debell went 3-for-4 with a double and one RBI. Logan Brimacombe and McCuan each had one RBI off his one hit.
Clarkston closed the Oxford Strong Classic with a 10-1 win at Oxford, May 8.
The Wolves lost to Detroit Country Day on Friday, 3-0.
Clarkston (10-14) opened the week against Birmingham Seaholm. They head to Bloomfield Hills today, Wednesday, May 15 at 4:30 p.m. They head to Romeo on Saturday for a double header beginning at 11 a.m. They head to Lake Orion to finish their 3-game series on Monday, 4:30 p.m.
Clarkston Girls Soccer
The Clarkston Girls Varsity Soccer team went 2-1 at the Petoskey Invitational on Saturday.
They opened with 5-2 win over Harbor Springs with goals from Claire Thomas, Ava Tereau, Macie Moscovic, Lana Sloan and Sophia Winningham.
They also defeated Flint Powers Catholic, 2-1; and lost to Lake Orion, 3-2 with goals from Moscovic, Avery Perkins, Emma Bradley and Ashley de Hesselle in the two games.
They tied with Bloomfield Hills last Thursday, 2-2. The goals were scored by Brooke Ratliff and Natalie Mora-Garcia.
The Wolves (10-4-2) played league game against Royal Oak this week on Tuesday. They host Davison today, Wednesday, May 15. JV plays at 5:30 p.m., varsity follows.
Clarkston Softball
The Clarkston Varsity Softball split their home opener double header against Birmingham Seaholm last Thursday. They won the first game, 11-1, and lost the second game, 16-6.
They lost to Fenton on Friday, 10-9 and 10-0.
The Wolves (3-13) opened the week against Macomb Dakota and Rochester Adams. They head to Northville for a double header on Thursday. They play in the Algonac Classic on Saturday.
