Bert Thomas Kovacs; of Clarkston formerly of Dearborn; passed away Jan. 1, 2025; age 80; preceded in death by wife Larena “Rennie”; father of Kelly (Victor) Pena; grandpa “Papa” of Manuel & Layla Pena; brother of the late Vivian Michaels; uncle of Shawn (Cheryl) Michaels and Michele Rogers; great uncle of Austin and Tyler Rogers; brother in law of Brian (Ria) LaBarge & Gina (Kevin) Daniels.
Bert served in the U.S. Navy & was an auto claims adjuster for State Farm Insurance. He enjoyed golfing & was a member of Mustang Owners Club of Southeastern MI and Bowties Car Club. Many special memories were made with his grandchildren at car shows. He also was a member of the SONS model train club & served as past president of Oakland County Sportsmen’s Club.
