Rummage sale
The Clarkston American Legion Post 63 Auxiliary and Legionnaires are hosting their annual Rummage Sale during the M-15 Heritage Route Garage Sales, Friday, May 6, 9 a.m.- 6 p.m.; Saturday, May 7, 9 a.m.- 4 p.m.
All proceeds are used to support veterans’ programs. Donation receipts are available upon request. Donations can be dropped off at the post.

They are offering outdoor grass spaces for Junk in the Trunk. Fee for the 12-by-20-foot grass lots are $10 for the two-day sale.
The post is located on M-15, north of I-75 at 8047 Ortonville Rd, Clarkston..
Veterans’ celebration
Independence Township Senior Community Center hosts the sixth annual Veterans Recognition Celebration, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., July 4, during Independence Fest at Clintonwood Park, 6000 Clarkston Road.
The event includes a Veterans Ceremony from 2-3 p.m., entertainment, military displays in Bartsch Hall from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., vehicles, and vendors.
There is no cost to display a vehicle or be a military service display vender.
All veterans are invited to join the VIP list, with parking pass and food voucher for lunch, served 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Wine tasting
Clarkston Rotary’s Michigan Spring Wine Tasting & Buying, will be on Thursday, May 19, from 6:30- 8:30 p.m. at Fountains Golf & Banquet, 6060 Maybee Road in Clarkston. Tickets are $40 per person in advance or $50 at the door.
The night will feature wine samplings from six select award Michigan wineries and appetizers and desserts catered by the Fountains. Wines will be available for purchase by the bottle.
Drop box and silent auction items will be available, as well as a 50/50 cash drawing. Valet parking will also be provided.
This is one of the club’s largest fund raising event of the year and helps fund community service activities, including the Clarkston Labor Day parade, a SCAMP picnic, Renaissance High School scholarships, a youth leadership weekend, park projects, and many other activities.
