Food drive

Clarkston Post Office carriers will collect for the 2016 Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive on Saturday, May 14.
Mail carriers nationwide are participating in the24th anniversary of the event, a partnership of the National Association of Letter Carriers and the U.S. Postal Service, local food pantries, and others.In 2015, 70 million pounds of food was collected by postal carriers nationally.
To participate, leave non-perishable food donations in a bag by the mailbox on Saturday and postal carriers will do the rest. For information, visit usps.com.

Concerts in the Park

The line up is set for the Clarkston Area Chamber of Commerce’s 37th season of Concerts in the Park. The free concerts in Depot Park start at 6 p.m. with local talent. Headliners play from 7-9 p.m.
Kicking the season off on June 10 is the bluegrass folk music of The Mickey’s, with local talent TJ Craven. On June 17 is Street Corner, doo-wop Motown, with local talent Alyssa Simmons. Randy Brock plays blues rock, with local talent The Hook, on June 24. Kicking off Independence Day weekend is Kris Hitchcock, country, with local talent Jason Waggoner, on July 1. On July 8 is Zion Lion, reggae, with local talent Michael Bush. Magic Bus returns with the sights and sounds of the psychedelic ’70s on July 15, with local talent Sam Van Wagoner. Closing the season on July 22 is Habitat in the Park, My Habitat Clarkston, featuring The Regulators, country rock.
Bring your picnic blanket, lawn chair or beach chair. Picnics are welcome, but no alcohol. Concessions will be served on site by local non-profit organizations. Cooks Farm Dairy ice cream will be for sale by the Clarkston Area Chamber of Commerce each week.

Food Truck Rally

The Clarkston Area Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professional Network hosts its inaugural Food Truck Rally on Friday, May 20, from 5:30-9 p.m. in the Mills Mall Parking lot, 20 W. Washington Street.
Admission is free. Food trucks include Andiamo, Detroit Cheesesteaks, Kona Ice, Living Foods To Go, Matt and Mo’s, Monkey Business Concessions, StreetSide Sushi and The Mean Weenie.
