MARBUTT, SGT. John K.; 34, entered his heavenly home October 21, 2016 at his home in Fort Meade MD; born in Haleyville, AL on April 5,1982 to Keith and Uni; husband of Kris; father of Riley & Laney; stepfather of Jamie Scarbrough & Kaley Roland; grandpa of Mia; brother of Kit. John was a Holly High School graduate. He served 8 years in the United States Army, including two overseas tours. In Iraq as a Combat Engineer for Echo Company, 1^st Battalion, 64^th Armored Regiment. He later changed his MOS to 68S Preventive Medicine Specialist and served one year in South Korea. He was stationed at Fort Meade, MD where he was the Command Preventive Medicine NCO assigned as the Health Risk Management Division NCOIC.   John served his country with great pride and dignity. He had a kind gentle heart and was loved by everyone.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at the river.   He was a man of many trades and was always willing to help others.   John’s memory will be cherished by a large extended family in MI, AL, GA & IL. Friends may visit October 31 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home Glennville, GA from 1:00 pm – 2:45 pm; burial at 3:00 pm at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
