With two minutes remaining in the third quarter against Bloomfield Hills, senior Foster Loyer scored on a 3-pointer, marking his 2,000-point achievement in the Wolves’ gymnasium.
“I am proud of him,” said Clarkston Boys Varsity Basketball Head Coach Dan Fife. “It not only says a lot about our players playing with him, but him as well. He’s a good player. It’s good for our program to have someone like him come through.”
Loyer moved up to third in the Clarkston Boys Basketball record books with most points. He is 32 points away from Dugan Fife’s record and 287 from

Dane Fife’s first place record. As for Michigan High School Basketball History, Loyer became the 41st member of the 2,000-point club.
“He passed me a couple weeks okay, and I am okay with it,” coach smiled.
The Wolves defeated Bloomfield Hills, 75-29 marking head coach Dan Fife’s 690 win, putting him third in state history for wins.
“We shot the ball well, as well as you can shoot for a game,” said Fife. “I don’t think we could have shot any better.”
Loyer opened the game with a three-pointer off an assist from senior Taylor Currie. Senior Nick Wells added two points to the score before the Blackhawks scored.
The Wolves finished the first quarter in an 11-point run, capped off by two field goals and a lay up from Loyer, 22-8.
Clarkston held Bloomfield Hills to four points during the second quarter as they scored 23 points during the stanza with Loyer, Wells, CJ Robinson and Demond Mills-Bradley boosting the score with a total of four field goals.
“I don’t pay attention to the scores,” Fife admitted as the half closed, 45-12.
The Wolves created a bigger gap in the score during the third quarter as they held their opponents to five points. The Blackhawks scored twice with a basket and a field goal, sending both teams into the final eight minutes, 64-17.
The running clock allowed Clarkston to put in players off the bench as senior Tristen Mysen and junior Jakob Jensen scored two points each, and sophomore Matthew Nicholson scored three points. Freshman Garrett Dellinger, standing 6’6”, ended the game with a pair of baskets in the final 36 seconds.
Loyer led the team with 31 points and scoring off six field goals. Wells had 12 points and had two field goals and Robinson scored 11 points and had three 3-pointers. Currie had five points.
“Nick came out and shot the ball well,” Fife said. “All of our subs came in and did great tonight, not that they don’t always do, but they were extra special tonight. It really helps. We gained some confidence.”
The Wolves defeated Hazel Park on Jan. 30 , 70-39, with aboost off a 20-point run in the first half.
“It doesn’t look like it was tough, but it was tough,” Fife said.
Loyer led with 34 points. Currie scored 18 points during the game.
Clarkston, ranked No. 1 in the state with a 13-1 overall record and 7-0 in OAA Red, heads to Southfield Arts & Technology this Friday. Varsity begins at 5:30 p.m., JV follows.
The Wolves are back home when they host Troy next Friday, Feb. 16.
