The state rejected a request by the City of the Village of Clarkston for a 2019 Michigan Transportation Economic Development grant for small communities.
The $160,000 grant would have funded road work on Miller and Waldon roads.
“Given this news, I will be scheduling another meeting with the Road Commission of Oakland County to determine what road work we can complete this year with the funds we have by piggybacking on their paving contracts,” said City Manager Jonathan Smith. “We are still in the running for the 2020 grant that was applied for at the same time.”
The state received 160 applications totaling $25 million but only had $3 million to distribute, Smith said.
