The state denied Clarkston’s road grant request a second time.
The city applied for two matching grants from the Michigan Economic Development Transportation Fund for road work on Miller, Holcomb, and Waldon. The state denied the city’s request for 2019 funds previously, and the 2020 grant last week.
“Given this news, I am stepping up our meetings with representatives from the Road Commission of Oakland County to see what road work can be done this season by piggybacking on their road paving projects,” said City Manager Jonathan Smith. “Our priorities, in order, are Miller Road from Main Street to Glenburnie, the Waldon Road approach to Main Street and the Clarkston Road approach to Main Street.”
The city manager will bring a proposal to City Council as soon as details are available, he said.
