A plumbing contractor working on a home on Glenburnie this week damaged a sewer pipe and a Consumers Energy crew damaged a storm drain on N. Holcomb in the City of the Village of Clarkston, said City Manager Jonathan Smith.
Independence Township DPW is overseeing the repairs, Smith said.
Homeowners and contractors working in the city are reminded to call MISS DIG (811) to flag underground utilities prior to any excavation work.
Also, a streetlight at the intersection of Main Street and Middle Lake Road has been inoperable after being hit a few weeks ago, Smith said.
Because of the damage, the repair has taken longer than the normal bulb replacement. DTE was contacted again this week given that school is now in session and many students cross Main Street at that location. DTE promised that it would be repaired in five days or less, he said.
