Clarkston Community Historical Society hosts the 47th annual Art in the Village, Sept. 14 and 15 in Depot Park, featuring more than 80 artists and vendors selling furniture, glass, pottery, paintings, metalwork, photography, textiles, jewelry, edibles and more.
Admission is free. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
The family-friendly event is the organization’s largest fundraiser. In addition to works from carefully selected artisans, children’s activities by the Clarkston Independence District Library and live music will be featured throughout the weekend.
Show proceeds underwrite exhibits at the Clarkston Heritage Museum, the purchase and care of historically significant Clarkston artifacts, and free educational programs for the public during the year.
The popular antique tent will offer vintage furniture, glassware, framed art and other items donated by the public – all at bargain prices. Bid on artwork in the Silent Auction tent and purchase Clarkston-branded merchandise ideal for gift-giving.
Food is available for purchase by show sponsors Buck Shots Bar & Grill and Johnny Black’s Public House, along with locally sourced cider and doughnuts. CCHS also thanks Bath Planet and TNR Disposal for their sponsorships this year.
