The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) recently assisted the City of the Village of Clarkston on three road projects.
MDOT crews responded almost immediately to a request a couple weeks ago to vacuum out several storm drains on M-15, which were significantly clogged with sand and dirt, said City Manager Jonathan Smith.
Last week, crews completed some extensive work to relocate storm drains on M-15 at Laurelton after the city notified them of road flooding during heavy rainfalls, Smith said.
“And soon, MDOT will be replacing a M-15 sign at Robertson knocked down in a recent accident, warning drivers to not block the intersection,” he said. “The city thanks MDOT for their recent assistance.”

Work on Sashabaw Road from I-75 to Clarkston Road will continue until late November, depending on the weather.
The project includes widening the road to five lanes with a continuous left turn lane, resurfacing, right-turn lanes where warranted and Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant sidewalks and crosswalks.
