Kickers knock down two foes
The Clarkston Boys Varsity Soccer team shut out West Bloomfield and Rochester Adams last week as the team prepped for this week’s busy schedule.
The Wolves finished the week with a 2-0 win over West Bloomfield. Goals came from Jacob Murray and Dylan Walker in the second half on the grass field at Clarkston Junior High School, Sept. 17.
“It was fun,” said Ian Jones, head coach, adding the boys played well. “The second half they controlled really well.”
The Wolves opened last week with a 2-0 over Rochester Adams, Sept. 15. Richie Ludwig and Nick Merritt scored the goals for the night.
“It was very controlled,” said Jones. “Once we got the goal, it was over to a certain degree.”
He added everyone is performing well and playing at least 20 minutes each game.
“It shows how well they are playing,” Jones said, adding they don’t like to change the lines constantly because it breaks down the flow.
The Wolves opened this week at North Farmington, then head down to Ferndale on Thursday and then to Troy Athens on Saturday.
“It’s a busy week,” Jones said. “The last one is going to be the one we are really looking forward to.”
The Wolves are home on Tuesday, Sept. 29 when they host Berkley.
