On September 26, officers responded at 10:21 a.m. to the 2500 block of Mann Road for a report of a suspicious person.
Dispatch received a call from a 61-year-old Independence Township woman stating there was a man outside her home. Officers spoke to the woman by phone on the way to the residence.
Upon arrival, they spotted the man, who was still on the property.
When called over by officers, the man tried to hide behind a car, but eventually walked over to the officers and was taken into custody.
The woman stated the subject was sitting on a bench in her yard and started to take a Halloween ornament. She yelled at him to stop, and he yelled an expletive back at her. That is when she called the police.
She said she had no idea who or why the man was in her yard.
The man, a 61-year-old Pontiac resident, was ticketed for trespassing and was driven back to his residence.
