A large amount of Everest faculty and staff were recently honored for celebrating work anniversaries during the recently-completed 2020-21 school year.
The Everest faculty and staff gathered to congratulate them as well as to bid farewell to Jim Hellner (facilities staff) and Michele Keusch (fourth grade teacher), who are both retiring.
The milestones recognized included staff who have worked for the school for five, 10, 15 and 25 years.
For five years at Everest:
Alison Hess (high school Administrative Assistant)
Caroline Mazure (academy and high school Visual Arts teacher)
Maria Mellis (high school English and History teacher)
For 10 years at Everest:
John Haezebrouck (middle school History and Literature teacher)
Jordan Mitchell (middle school History teacher)
Nghiem Nguyen (high school Math and Robotics teacher)
Christina Nielson (academy Academic Interventionist and 1:1 Technology Coordinator)
For 15 years at Everest:
Joseph DeLisle (middle school Math and Religion teacher)
Jeremy Maslowsky (middle school Science teacher)
For 25 years at Everest:
Theresa Radich (academy Religion teacher)
Michelle Wildrick (second grade teacher)
Gregory Reichert (Headmaster and high school principal)
In addition, members of the Clarkston Community Schools Board of Education recently earned awards from the Michigan Association of School Boards and Oakland County School Board Association for their efforts to improve their leadership skills, demonstrating their commitment to student achievement and their own continuous improvement.
Awards are earned for years of service, classes completed in MASB’s leadership training program, as well as for conference attendance, years of service and leadership activities. Whole boards that achieve and maintain certification status are also recognized.
MASB honors went to the CCS Board as a whole with the Standard of Excellence Award, given when all board members have achieved the Award of Merit, the second level of certification, to President Kelli Horst, the Master Diamond Award (certification level five, awarded upon completion of certification of levels one through four, 14 200- or 300-level classes, and a minimum of 528 education credits), and Advocacy Skills Specialty, and to Vice President Greg Need, the Award of Distinction (certification level three, awarded upon completion of certification levels one and two, four 200- or 300-level classes, and a minimum of 208 education credits).
OCSBA Honors were presented to Secretary Steve Hyer for 20 years of board service and special recognition to Trustee Cheryl McGinnis upon her retirement from the OCSBA Board of Directors.
