Students achieve success on college campuses

Matthew Williamson, of Clarkston, recently earned a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering with Highest Honors from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.
Williamson was among approximately 4,435 undergraduate and graduate students who earned their degrees during the Spring 2021 semester and were recognized during the institute’s 260th Commencement exercises May 7-8 at Bobby Dodd Stadium.

Saaja Rayford, Clarkston, has graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Baccalaureate Nursing) from the College of Health Sciences and Professions at Ohio University.
More than 4,800 students graduated with bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate degrees from Ohio University for the Spring 2021 semester 2021.

A total of 1,760 students completed the requirements for certificates, associate, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees at Ferris State University and Kendall College of Art and Design during the semester that ended in May 2021.

In addition, Nicholas Verhelle, Deana Hunter, Kociba, Wood-Hallett, Brenden Nye, Nathan Nye, Sarah Rooks, Yuri Karpushenkoff, Juliana Gekiere, and Clay Roeder, all of Clarkston, and Jack Schwartz, Elena Peterson, Garrett Joseph,and Cale Herzenstiel, all of Davisburg, made the Ferris State Dean’s List for the Winter 2021 semester.

Megan Hibbard, Kobe Manzo, and Alyvia Stoudt, all of Clarkston, made the Northern Michigan University Dean’s List for the Winter 2021 semester with a 4.0 grade-point average. Gabrielle Bitzer, Kaitlyn Bridger, Kaylynn Greer, Emma Rogers, and Emily Wood, all of Clarkston, and Trevor Que, of Davisburg, all had GPAs of 3.50-3.99.

At the University of Alabama, Kylie Dasher, of Clarkston, was named to the Presidents List, and Natalie Luba, of Clarkston, was named to the Dean’s List. Dean’s List students have academic records of 3.5 or above (on a 4.0 scale), and President’s List students have academic records of 4.0 (all A’s).

Devin Senerius, of Clarkston, earned Dean’s List distinction at Avila University for the Spring 2021 semester.
To be included on the Dean’s List, students must have successfully completed at least 12 credit hours with at least a 3.5-GPA for the semester.

Gabi Shilling, of Clarkston, has been named to the Spring 2021 Dean’s List at the University of Rhode Island.
To be included on the Dean’s List, full-time students must have completed 12 or more credits for letter grades which are GPA-applicable during a semester and achieved at least a 3.30 quality point average.

To earn this achievement, a student must attain a GPA of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.

Western New England University has announced that Madison Tucker (BSBA in Sport Management program), of Clarkston, has been named to the Dean’s List for the Spring 2021 semester.
Students are named to the Dean’s List for achieving a semester GPA of 3.30 or higher.
The university is located in Springfield, Mass.

Carthage College has named Elizabeth Oda, of Clarkston, to its Dean’s List for academic excellence during the Spring 2021 semester.
Dean’s list honors are accorded to Carthage students who achieve a minimum 3.5 GPA while carrying at least 14 credit hours during a semester.
In addition, Isabella Spindler, of Clarkston, graduated from Carthage in May.
Carthage is located in Kenosha, Wis.

Schneider, a sophomore majoring in Graphic Design, was named to the Dean’s List for the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts.

Sabrina Fitzgerald, Athena Levigne, Ezra Moore, and Dylan Perry were named to the Dean’s List for the Sprfing 2021 semester, while Perry graduated with a degree in Kinesiology-Exercise Science

Mackenzie Case, of Clarkston, graduated with a Bachelors of Science from Saint Francis University during the May 8-9 commencement exercises.
Mackenzie was among more than 700 students who received degrees.
Saint Francis is the oldest Catholic-Franciscan college in the United States, and is located in Loretto, Pa.

Olivet College recently celebrated the Class of 2021 with an in-person commencement ceremony on May 22. A total of 214 graduates were honored, including traditional undergraduate students and graduates of the Master of Business Administration program, RN-BSN Program and Criminal Justice Professional Degree Program. Graduates from the Class of 2020 were also invited to take part in the ceremony.
Mikaela Schmidt, of Clarkston, and Gerald Runions, of Davisburg, were among the graduates at the Michigan school.

Wren Macaulay, of Clarkston, has been named to the Dean’s List at the University of New Hampshire for earning High Honors during the Spring 2021 semester.
Students named to the Dean’s List at UNH are students who have earned recognition through their superior scholastic performance during a semester enrolled in a full-time course load (12 or more graded credits). Students with a 3.65 to 3.84 GPA are awarded High Honors.

To be eligible for the President’s List, a student must take at least 12 credit hours and earn a 4.0 GPA.

In addition, Noah S. Bridger, Mariah L. Drye, Rachel R. Harris, and Jala Smith, all of Clarkston earned a spot on the Winter 2021 semester Dean’s List – at least 12 credit hours and a semester GPA of 3.4 or better.
