The Brandon-Oxford lady skiers wrapped up the season on a slippery slope at the SEMSL League Meet – the team took ninth place on both the slalom (246 points) and giant slalom (125 points). Clarkston took first place in both events.
Coming in highest on the slalom was Karen Offer in 29th place with a combined 0:48.46. Lauren Bayless placed second for the team at 34th with 0:50.20 and Grace Auchterlonie took third with 38th at 0:50.88. The top spot on the run went to Lakeland’s Angela Kettinger, who finished with a combined 0:40.72.
On the GS, Offer again came in first on the team with 15th place at 0:54.54. Bayless and Auchterlonie again followed. Bayless came in 25th with 0:55.47, while Auchterlonie came in 37th with 0:56.34. Taking the top position this time was Clarkston’s Mo Weiland with a combined time of 0:50.29.
In statewide competition, Karen Offer was the only Brandon-Oxford skier to qualify for the Feb. 23 event. She took 55th on the slalom, out of 67 skiers, with a total time of 1:47.32. Placing in first was once again Clarkston’s Weiland with 1:06.59. Times for the day were lower overall due to difficult weather conditions.
Congratulations to the ladies on completing another competitive season!
