Every Advent, students at Everest seek to find meaningful ways to support the local community in this season of giving.
The Everest Collegiate student government has adopted two families this year in cooperation with Lighthouse of Oakland County. They collect items from the families’ wish lists, and then made a trip to Target to purchase additional items with gifts cards and cash donations.
Following the Target trip, the students went to Lighthouse of Oakland County, located in Pontiac, to help with loading, sorting, and preparing donations during this Christmas season.
Everest’s dean of discipline, Erin Van Wagoner, was impressed with the students’ focus and hard work throughout the day.
