The masks came out and the snow started falling on Saturday night during the 19th annual Snowflake Ball, held at the Addison Oaks Ballroom.
The event, which benefits the Orion Art Center, honored the OAC’s Artist of the Year, Janet Almstad-Davison, and Patron of the Year, Sandy Mabery.
Ron Tavernit of WOMC-FM served as the master of ceremonies and Christine Lehman, the retiring Lake Orion Schools Superintendent, served as honorary chair.
The event also included a performance by the Lake Orion High School Chamber Orchestra, a student art exhibit, face painting and the work of artists on-site.
OAC Director Reggie Harrison said the event and its masquerade theme was a huge success, citing the generosity of those in attendance, many of whom bid on an array of live and silent auction items.
Harrison added that none of it would have been possible without the help of the Snowflake Ball Committee.
Committee members included Lisa Cummins, Susan Borella, Julie Martin, Sue Willick, Cassandra Sharkey, Candy Reed, Leslie Clements, Stacy McIntyre, Cindy Wheeler, Lisa Bjork, Sue Welch, Diane Gladstone, Karen Purdon, Leslie Shields and Harrison.
