Addison remembers

Veterans and residents gathered at Lakeville Cemetery over the weekend to observe Memorial Day. Numerous suspected homemade explosive devices discovered by police Friday night in the house of an Oxford High student led to the school’s evacuation Monday morning. Village cuts taxes

Oxford Village taxpayers will see some relief on their property taxes bills this summer as council last night voted to lower the total levy by 1.5 mills. ‘I know I haven’t been on this council long, but I’m really proud to be part of a council that’s reducing the mills,? said Councilwoman Teri Stiles. McGowan and Bob Coltman, of the Rochester-based RTC Development, […]

And in some respects, cityhood would cost village taxpayers more than the status quo given the new services and responsibilities it would be […]

Promoting ambition, not addiction

Downtown Oxford’s Centennial Park was filled Saturday with kids who have better things to do than get high or drunk. ‘My anti-drug is working on cars,? said Caleb Flewwelling. ‘I have a ?79 El Camino that I love working on.? As part of a drug awareness event sponsored by Oxford-Addison Youth Assistance and organized by […]

‘We need Mrs. Logan’

Not that long ago, Autumn Pippenburg wasn’t sure if she would be able to go to college and pursue a career in dentistry. Without a lot of scholarship money, the Oxford High School senior simply couldn’t afford the higher education she wanted and needed. Then she went to see Karen Logan, the career resource center […]
