BCF showroom opens in downtown Lake Orion

In just three months time, the new Builders Custom Flooring showroom has developed quite a reputation.
‘We can barely keep up,? manager Dan Burgess said of the calls he’s been getting. ‘We’re having to hire more people. We just thought it was going to be a mom and pop store.?
The Downtown Development Authority presented Burgess and his storefront, located at 59 S. Broadway, with a plaque last Thursday during a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
‘We’re really excited to be here,? said Debbie Burgess of BCF. ‘It’s thrilling to me that there’s this new effort to instill life into downtown Lake Orion.?
The Burgesses said they wanted to expand their selection by adding a showroom, and thought downtown was the perfect place.
Just seeing the showroom floor is reason enough to stop by.
‘Our showroom is a custom display in and of itself,? Dan said, noting that it features 17 exotic wood species like Brazilian Cherry, Australian Cypress, Ipe and Cumaru, to name a few.
‘We’re providing a quality product for our families and neighbors,? Debbie added.
BCF has built its reputation on custom hardwood installations, ‘dustless? sanding techniques and its exclusive VerMeister finish, imported from Italy.
By adding a storefront, the Burgesses said they’ve been able to pass on convenience and savings to their customers.
‘The storefront has helped,? said Dan of letting people know what BCF has to offer, ‘but it’s our customer service that sets us apart.?
Dan has been in the area for six years and in Oakland County for over 20 years. Their newest installer, Bob Martinez, brings 13 years of experience.
‘All of our installers are in-house,? Dan noted. ‘Many have been with us for 15 years and they’re all well-trained.?
‘We do everything,? Dan added. ‘We’ve been in thousands of homes in the last 20 years. We know the flooring trends.?
One of their newest clients is the Goddard School on Silverbell Road, where BCF will be installing just about everything.
‘We’ve tried to distinguish ourselves from our competitors,? Debbie noted. ‘We can give you the best value for your dollar and add value to your home in the process.?
BCF offers maintenance programs on all flooring purchases. Their referrals and repeat customers make up most of their business, proving the high quality of their products and their work.
Dan said he’s even been reconnected with some past customers as a result of the showroom.
The motto of Builders Custom Flooring is ‘Quality Flooring at Prices You Can Afford,? and the Burgesses promise to stay true to those words.
‘We purposely kept our overhead low, so we can offer better prices to our customers,? Dan said, adding that free financing is also available.
The focus at BCF is on creative flooring concepts with distinctive product lines like wood by Mirage, carpets by Beaulieu, laminate and vinyl by Tarkett, and porcelain and tile by American Forim.
Those that have already come to love Builders Custom Flooring need not fret either, as they can still do in-home displays and sales as before.
Dan noted that the new location also offers the possibility to expand in the near future.
‘We really like it here,? he said. ‘This is us. We are Lake Orion.?
