Blanche Sims hosted a visitor from Children’s Hospital, who brought with her the end result of the students? $1,800 fundraising efforts.
Mary Kraft, a certified child life specialist who lives in Davisburg, talked about her duties at the hospital, in addition to showing the students the laptop computer their car wash fundraiser helped purchase.
One year ago, the students in Shayne Flynn’s fourth-grade class held the fundraiser, after classmate Daniel Krywig passed away due to a heart condition.
The proceeds helped to purchase the laptop, which Kraft said was for bedridden children to use at the hospital
Fourth- and fifth-graders attended the assembly, which included some hands-on activities.
