Burchart top vote getter for school board

In extremely low voter turnout, the Lake Orion school district visited the polls yesterday to elect two candidates to the Board of Education.
Current Vice President Mary Jo Burchart garnered a majority of the votes with 1,303 (36.68 percent), while Secretary Tina Peterson came in a close second with 1,268 votes (35.7 percent). Both will serve another four-year term.
Newcomer Ken Grant received 966 votes (27.2 percent).
