Burglaries on Coats Rd.

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a couple of break-ins that occured on S. Coats Rd. in Oxford Twp. on Monday, Feb. 21.
A home owner called the Sheriff’s office after discovering his pole barn was broken into around 8:30 a.m. The south side barn door was open, and upon entering the barn, he discovered that the drivers side door of his vehicle was also open.
After examining the vehicle, the owner found that the unknown suspect ransacked the glove box and stole the vehicle ignition key from the ignition, according to the report. No other items appeared to be missing.
While OCSD were investgating the previous incident, they were approached by another home owner on S. Coats who reported that her garage had been broken into as well.
She stated that an unknown suspect entered her garage around 9:30 a.m. through the south side door. According to the report, once inside the attached garage, the suspect entered her vehicle and began looking through her glovebox.
The owner stated that the only thing that was missing was an air compressor.
There did not appear to be any sign of forced entry. Oakland County Lt. Larry Perry said that no evidence was left at the scene, but officers are working on leads.
