Busted at Oxford High

Suspected drugs and paraphernalia were found in an Oxford High School student’s car during an Oct. 15 canine search of the school and its grounds conducted by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.
A quantity of suspected marijuana, along with a scale, pipe and rolling papers, were found inside a 2001 Mercury Sable LS belonging to an OHS junior, according to the sheriff’s report.
The 16-year-old Pontiac resident admitted the items belonged to him and told Jim Rourke, a school security officer, they were for his ‘personal use,? the report stated.
‘I had no intentions of selling, giving it out or even bringing it inside the school,? the student wrote in a statement.
The suspected marijuana, which filled about a quarter of a plastic sandwich bag, was sent to the lab for testing, according to Sheriff’s Sgt. Scott Patterson.
The OHS student was referred to the county’s Youth Assistance program. If he fails to complete it, a juvenile petition will be forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for review, Patterson said.
