Cheer team narrowly misses out on trip to states

In spite of a 776.092 score that was among the best across the state, the Lake Orion cheer squad missed out on qualifying for this weekend’s state finals by just over four points last Saturday.
Rochester (799.096) and Stoney Creek (780.116) took the top two spots in the region 5 competition, held at LOHS.
Both team were in the OAA I, where LO tied Rochester for league supremacy.
Lake Orion’s score would have made the top two, and thus qualified them for the finals in Grand Rapids, at several of the other regional sites.
The team placed sixth at states last season and last missed out on the finals in 2005.
