In the month of January, 1,418 vehicles paid for parking in Clarkston’s city lot at Main and Washington, for a total of $3,521, a nine percent reduction from January 2019, said City Manager Jonathan Smith.
Enforcement officers issues 191 parking citations in January, Smith said.
So far this winter, the city towed five vehicles parked overnight on a city street or in a city parking lot.
Parking in city-maintained spots is prohibited from Dec. 1 through April 1 to facilitate snow plowing, he said.
“We will only tow vehicles as a last resort, but will if needed,” Smith said.
