Jack Anderson, 2019 graduate of Clarkston High School, was selected as the University Athletic Association Hitter of the Week after helping to lead his team to wins in each of the three games he played in last weekend in March.
Anderson is the sophomore catcher for Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He led the team with a .545 batting average, going 6-for-11, with four runs, a double, two triples, two RBIs and three stolen bases.
Anderson made his season debut in the opening game in CWRU’s doubleheader against Wittenberg, a 9-5 win, going 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBIs, a double and a stolen base, March 27.
The next day, he played a key role in the Spartans’ 4-3 win in the first game of a doubleheader against Ohio Wesleyan. Anderson went 3-for-4 with two triples and a stolen base, and scored the first two runs of the game for CWRU. In the late game of a doubleheader, a 7-5 Spartan win, Anderson walked, was hit by a pitch, and stole a base.
During his freshman year with the Spartans, he only played ten games before the 2020 season was cancelled due to the COVID pandemic.
Anderson played for Clarkston Varsity Baseball and was named 2019 All-League, All-District, and All-Region as a catcher.
