Class of ?88 ‘needs you? for reunion

The big movie of the year was ‘Top Gun,? most people tuned in faithfully to the popular television show, ‘The Cosby Show,? and it wasn’t uncommon to hear ‘Need You Tonight? by INXS blaring on someone’s radio. It was 1988, and now, 20 years later, it’s time for the Lake Orion High School Class of 1988 to celebrate.
Their 20-year class reunion will be held Saturday, August 16 at Paint Creek Country Club, from 6 p.m. to midnight.
According to Jennifer (Paterson) McLaughlin, who is planning the reunion, the Class of 1988 did a lot of cruising, and they can enjoy a little bit of that the weekend of the reunion as well.
‘Our reunion is being held the same weekend as the Woodward Dream Cruise, so alumni can attend both,? she said, noting that classmates are coming from all over the country so it should be a fun-filled and reminiscent weekend.
To attend the reunion, the cost is $70 for single ticket or $130 per couple, which includes a full course buffet dinner and six hours of entertainment from a disc jockey, as well as an open bar for six hours.
According to McLaughlin, payments can be made payable and mailed to LOHS CLASS OF ?88 REUNION, PO BOX 451, Lake Orion, MI 48362, and she said that payments must include alumni email address, as tickets will be emailed after payment has cleared.
McLaughlin added that they are also hoping to have door prizes the night of the reunion. She hopes her classmates can attend.
