First-graders in Sara Powrie’s class at Clear Lake Elementary held a Mother’s Day Tea Thursday afternoon. Students dressed in their Sunday best. The boys wore dress shirts and ties while the girls donned frilly dresses, lovely hats and white gloves. Students read poems to their moms after which they shared hugs, kisses and tears. Following the readings, students and moms enjoyed lemonade, punch and a buffet of sweet treats.
