NEIDECK

Benjamin Neideck, Clarkston High School Class of 2019, has graduated Summa Cum Laude from Wayne State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Music Education.
He is the son of Lynn Neideck and Ralph Mitchell.

Kelly Cousino, 2018 Clarkston High School graduate, has graduated with honors from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in Chemical Engineering.
She will be working for Corteva Agriscience in Midland.

Two Clarkston students are among over 650 Bob Jones University students named to the President’s List for high academic achievement during the Spring 2023 semester.
To qualify for the President’s List, students must earn a 3.75 or higher grade-point average for the semester.
Lauren Brundage, a senior Public Health/Global Health major, and Hope Combest, a freshman Political Science major, were named to the Spring 2023 President’s List.
Brundage was also among over 700 students who graduated from Bob Jones University on May 5. Brundage graduated Cum Laude with a BS in Public Health/Global Health.

HILL

Sean R. Hill graduated from Central Michigan University with a Ph.D. in educational leadership on May 5, 2023.
His research focused on student academic achievement and the role of partner teachers in Chinese immersion language programs.
He is currently the primary social sciences and humanities learning consultant at Delta College after serving as a visiting professor of Spanish with Grand Valley State University.
Hill is a 1996 Clarkston High School graduate.

Grace Mersino, of Clarkston, qualified for Belmont University’s Spring 2023 Dean’s List.
Approximately 49 percent of Belmont’s 6,552 undergraduate students at the Nashville school were named.
Dean’s List eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality GPA of 3.5 with no grade below a C.

Emerson College student Kaitlyn Joyner, of Clarkston, was one of 98 seniors and juniors inducted into Emerson’s Gold Key Honor Society on April 5 in a ceremony in the Semel Theater located in Boston.
The Gold Key Honor Society is an interdisciplinary organization founded at Emerson in 1962 to “recognize and encourage outstanding academic achievement.” Juniors in the top five percent of their class, and seniors in the top 10 percent of their class who have earned at least 48 credits are eligible.
Joyner is majoring in Writing, Literature and Publishing with Literature Concentration.

Angelena Perry, of Clarkston, was named to the President’s List for the Spring 2023 term at Trine University, located in Angola, Ind.
Perry is majoring in Business Administration.
To earn President’s List honors, Trine students must complete a minimum of 12 hours and have a GPA of 3.750-4.000.

Courtney Farrugia, of Clarkston, has earned Dean’s List recognition for the Spring 2023 term at Trine University.
Farrugia is majoring in Exercise Science.
To earn Dean’s List honors, Trine students must complete a minimum of 12 hours and have a GPA of 3.500-3.749.

Hannah Hitchcock, of Clarkston, has earned Dean’s List honors during the Spring 2023 semester at Lee University, located in Cleveland, Tenn.
Dean’s List recognition is earned by full-time, undergraduate students with a semester GPA between 3.7 and 4.00.

Kettering University’s Upsilon Pi Epsilon inducted William Raines on May 11.
Raines, of Clarkston, is majoring in Computer Science and is a member of the Class of 2025.
Upsilon Pi Epsilon is the computer science honor society. To qualify, members must be seniors in the top 33 percent of computer science majors in their graduating class and have a GPA over 3.5.
Kettering is located in Flint.

Hannah Schedlbower, from Clarkston, majoring in Middle Child Education, was named to the spring 2023 Dean’s List at Cedarville University, located in Cedarville, Ohio.
Students receive this recognition for obtaining a 3.5 GPA or higher for the semester and carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours.

Elizabeth Giordano, Ashlyn Helm, Matthew Lacey, and Kaylee Phillips, all of Clarkston, were named to the Dean’s Honor List at Cedarville University for Spring 2023.
This recognition requires the student to obtain a 3.75 GPA or higher for the semester and carry a minimum of 12 credit hours.

MALINOWSKI

Minnesota State University, located in Mankato, Minn., awarded 2,494 degrees to 2,247 students at the end of the Spring 2023 semester.
Anthony Malinowski, of Clarkston, earned a BS in Management
Malinowski also played three years for the Mavericks NCAA Division I hockey team, compiling two goals and eight assists for 10 points in 64 games as a defenseman.

Trent Schmeling, a Clarkston sophomore, studying Computer Science and Mathematics, and Alex Stevenson, a Clarkston, senior, studying Criminal Justice, are among more than 1,100 Harding University students included on the Dean’s List for grades achieved during the Spring 2023 semester.
Stevenson also graduated in May and received a Bachelor of Science degree.
Taylor Currie, of Clarkston, graduated as well, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Sport and Recreation Management.
Harding is in Searcy, Ark.

Landen Monty, of Davisburg, has been named to the 2023 Spring Semester Dean’s List at Alpena (Mich.) Community College.
The Dean’s List recognizes students of great distinction who have earned perfect 4.00 GPAs. To be eligible for the Dean’s List, students must have full-time course loads of 12 or more credits.

Alma College has released the Dean’s List for those students who achieved outstanding academic performance during the 2023 Winter Term.
Included are Lydia Back and Sydney Rudolph, both of Clarkston.
Students who achieve a 3.5 or better GPA during a term, while carrying a minimum of 13 credits, at least eight of which are evaluative grades, are named to the Dean’s List.
