More than 1,000 volunteers hit the streets of Clarkston and Davisburg for My Habitat Clarkston’s Community Impact Weekend in April.
Projects at 41 locations included wheelchair ramp construction, sewing projects, homeless hygiene kits packaging, yard clean-up for 16 local seniors, local garden preparation, landscaping at the Habitat Oakland County home in Independence Township, handrail installation for seniors, school property and ball diamonds clean-up at Clarkston Community Schools, and book sale help at the Clarkston Independence Township Library.
Neiman’s Family Market donated food for all the pre-registered volunteers and Oakland Tech Culinary students packaged them for delivery. Donations also were received from Lowrie’s Landscape and Great Lakes ACE Hardware.
The next Community Impact Weekend is set for Nov. 5-6.
