Local Corvette owners selected Clarkston SCAMP to receive the proceeds from the silent auction at their Corvettes America Car Show this past August, presenting the donation to Aimee Baker of SCAMP last week.
Corvettes America, celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, includes automotive enthusiasts from all across Michigan, the country, and Canada. America’s Corvette Club, which has been sponsored by Bowman Chevrolet of Clarkston since 2014, is one of the largest Corvette clubs in Michigan.
The club was formed in 2000 by a group of Corvette fans of varied backgrounds and interests.
“We strive to offer activities all of our members would like to participate in, and everyone is free to participate as much, or as little, as they like,” said Richard Heldenbramd, club president. “Some activities we plan include competitive driving, cruises, car shows, national Corvette events, and social gatherings, just to name a few.”
Membership is open to Corvette owners, those who enjoy Corvettes, or just like to be around those who do. They meet on the first Tuesday of the month at 7:30 p.m. at Bowman Auto Center, 9603 Dixie Highway.
Next year’s Corvettes America show will be on Aug. 8 at Everest Academy. For more information, visit Corvettesamerica.org, email info@corvettesamerica.org, or call 248-884-3812.
