Dog causes crash on Seymour Lake Road

A dog running across Seymour Lake Road caused a two-vehicle accident just east of Spezia Feb. 16.
A 49-year-old Oxford woman was headed west on Seymour Lake Road in her 2002 Volkswagen Beetle when she ‘slowed down because a dog ran out in the roadway,? according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s report. The dog was observed by two other witnesses.
Unfortunately, the 1998 Pontiac Sunfire behind her ‘failed to stop? and struck the Volkswagen in the rear.
The Pontiac was driven by a 16-year-old Oxford woman, who was transported by ambulance to Troy Beaumont. The teen was cited by deputies for failing to stop in an assured clear distance.
The other driver was reportedly not injured.
