Troy Athens scored two second half touchdowns to erase a 14-0 deficit, but Lake Orion scored late to preserve a 21-14 victory.
After Athens had rallied to tie the game with just nine minutes left, the Dragons got a 33-yard Ryan Broth to Mike Nelson connection to put them in scoring position.
However, an A.J. Palko fumble ended the drive deep in Athens territory.
Palko would go from goat to hero a few plays later after the Dragons got the ball right back (Charles Fleck recovered a fumble on the very next play) and scored on his seven-yard scamper.
The Lake Orion defense preserved the win with two sacks and a pass deflection on the ensuing drive.
Palko finished with 111 yards on 15 carries and Cortez McKinley added 70 yards on 15 carries with two scores for LO.
The Dragons improve to 4-2 overall and 4-1 in OAA Red play with the victory.
